In honor of today’s FA Cup final between Manchester City and Stoke City, Umbro released two special pieces of merchandise. One of them is the current 10-11 Manchester City home shirt with an embroidered message that says “THE FA CUP FINAL, WEMBLEY 14.05.11.” The other is a very fine track jacket worn by the Manchester City staff during the 1969 FA Cup final against Leicester City. Adidas released a new football that is to be used in the upcoming 2011 Champions League final called Adidas Finale London (also known as Adidas Finale Wembley). It features those classic Champions League stars, now in scarlet color. We’ll see who will benefit most from this piece of equipment on the 28th of this month, when Manchester United will meet FC Barcelona in the final. All in all, it’s quite a pretty ball considering they don’t make them like the Tango’s anymore. You can get it from Kitbag or World Soccer Shop. Puma Mexico Finale is another special edition of soccer boots from Puma. If follows the Puma Diego Finale soccer boots from the Puma King Finale range and it was made to celebrate the 1986 Mexico World Cup. The 11-12 Brazil home kit & shirt was also released yesterday. Stores are already taking pre-orders and it’ll ship starting February 9th 2011 in the UK and mid March in the US. You can check out all the kit items available for sale on either Kitbag, UKSoccerShop or World Soccer Shop.

Made by Nike, the main difference in design compared to the old kit is the green stripe below the neckline. It looks pretty good, I’d say. The kit will be used in this year’s Copa America and will make its official debut next Wednesday in a friendly Brazil will play against France. One other useless but noticeable thing was the heavy use of AC Milan players in the adverts. Pato, Robinho and Thiago Silva are all heavily used. Make what you will of it.
