Chelsea’s new kit and shirt for the 11-12 season are out and available for pre-order. The official release date for the UK is May 12th 2011 and for the US is late May 2011. As for the shirt itself, it’s a tad different as it uses an alternation of two shades of blue to create large vertical stripes. Connoisseurs say this was done to remind of some of Chelsea’s 1980s kits. Here are the most important kit items:

Here’s something different for a change: an unconventional new kit. This one’s Chelsea’s new 10-11 away kit (we’ve also covered the 10-11 Chelsea home kit & shirt here). It features light orange stripes and orange writing on top of a black background. Compare this to the previous one which was mostly white with horizontal stripes and you get the picture. The new away kit looks pretty good as far as I’m concerned yet I don’t know how much Chelsea fans will enjoy it.
The kit is due to be released on August 5th in the UK and at about the same time in the US. Until then, you can pre-order it. You can buy the kit from Kitbag, UKSoccerShop and Soccer.com.
